Important Payment Information
  • A Credit card from a major credit card company will be scanned for security reasons when renting a car and will need to be in the name of the principal driver
  • We are unable to accept Electron, Debit Cards, Master Card, Dinner Card, American Express and Switch
  • The Credit card has to be scanned at the start of the hire as security for damages and unpaid traffic fines
  • A contract is to be signed where the customer authorises Trust Rent a Car (TRAC) to charge the credit card as needed and permitted by law

The estimated cost of the rental is payable at the start of the hire less any deposits paid beforehand. Prepayments in advance on the last week are accepted and can be arranged.

Insurance Coverage

Our rates include comprehensive accidental damage cover, except for the first €500.

Excess Waiver

These excesses can be waived off for a daily payment. However €50 administrative charge applies in case of loss, theft or damage to the car.

This insurance and the excess waiver is invalid if:

  • The renter intentionally causes the damage
  • Is under the influence of drink or drugs
  • Uses the vehicle in a prohibited or negligent way such as but not limited to driving off roads or hiring to other parties

Negligence connected with the theft of the vehicle may lead to the renter being required the full amount for the cost of replacing the vehicle and loss of use.

Accident Reporting

All accidents must be reported on +356 9982 6339 within 24 hours and an accident report form completed. Failure to do this may result in the insurance becoming invalid and the driver in charge is liable for all the charges.

All vehicles are insured for a maximum number of passengers. TRAC cannot accept liability for the vehicle being unsuitable for all passengers and luggage. TRAC reserves the right to redeem the car without compensation if any misuse is suspected.

Not all vehicles are insured and authorised to carry driving equipment. Please ask if you need to carry such equipment to driving sites.

Additional Drivers

The rental vehicle is normally only insured for the person who makes the rental. If others plan to drive the car, they must be present at time of rental to be added to the Rental Agreement, subject to presenting a full driver's licence that has been held for at least two years.
